About EAA Chapter 196

Who: EAA 196 is a local chapter of the national Experimental Aircraft Association, based at the Minute Man Air Field (6B6) in Stow, MA.

What: Chapter activities vary, but currently include:

  • Flying Young Eagles
    • Free flights for kids 8 to 17, flown by local EAA pilots
    • Second Saturday of each month, March or April, through October or November, depending on weather
  • General chapter meetings
    • 7:00 pm meetings, last Monday of each month
    • Burger/Hot Dog cookouts at 6:00 pm April through September (or as weather permits)
    • Special topics or speakers
    • Meetings are currently held in the Aptis Aviation building on the airport.
  • Annual Myricks Fly-In
    • Late September
    • Cooking burgers and hot dogs as a chapter fund raiser
    • Myricks Airport (1M8), Berkley, MA
  • Annual Holiday Party in early December (in lieu of chapter meeting)
  • IFR Club Meetings
    • 4th Tuesday of each month, at 7:00 pm
    • Meetings are currently held in the Aptis Aviation building on the airport.
  • Hangar Talk
    • 1st Saturday of each month
    • Breakfast at Nancy's Air Field Cafe, on the Minute Man Air Field
    • Free coffee (breakfast is on you)

Membership: Open to anyone, but must first be a member of the national EAA. Chapter dues are $20/year and can be paid to the Treasurer or any Director. That will make you a member.
